Crispina and Her Sisters: Women and Authority in Early Christianity

The public is invited to attend the keynote address Crispina and Her Sisters: Women and Authority in Early Christianity, presented by Sr. Christine Schenk, CSJ, as part of the 2017 National Conference of the Catholic Network for Women’s Equality. Explore the visual imagery and portraiture adorning the burial chambers and sarcophagi of early Christian women, and the new light it sheds on the authority of women in the early Church. The lecture will be given in English. A reception will follow.
