Sister Denise Desrochers, CSC

Coordinator of Pastoral Services

Denise Desrochers is a member of the Congregation of Sisters of Holy Cross.  She holds a doctorate in Theology from Saint Paul University (Ottawa).  Her research was published by Mediaspaul Editions, in 1999, with the following title: «La convivialité.  Une interprétation de la spiritualité de la libération chez Gustavo Gutiérrez». She chose to deepen and to present this spirituality, that appeared right after the Vatican II Council, at the same time liberation theology emerged, in the latin-american part of the world.  This biblical and modern spirituality is offered to all cultures and countries, even in a North American University.  Since 1982 she was a seasonal professor of Theology at Saint Paul and a full-time professor after 2001, at the BA level and for the Systematic Theology and Pratical Theology at the Master level. Prior to this, she taught in Montreal, at Saint-Pierre Center, at R-35 and at the Catholic Institute of Montreal.

In September 2013 she became coordinator of Pastoral Services at Saint Paul University.  In this new ministry she coordinates all the religious activities planned for students, professors and employees at Saint Paul. She offers spiritual accompaniment to persons and groups who need her expertise and her experience. Missionary in Santiago (Chile) during three years, she continues to be, with the same zeal, engaged at Saint Paul University, in the Ottawa diocese and the milieu dedicated to walk with the most vulnerable in the region.
