Evening-Conferences: Executive Coaching : types of insight in leadership development

Speaker: Dr. Sophie Ménard, Professor, School of Social Communication and Leadership

In Dr. Ménard’s recent study, insight was found to be a key factor in the effectiveness of leadership development in executive coaching. Her presentation will focus on coaches’ interventions observed in relation to different types of insight as per Pascual-Leone and Greenberg (2007) model of insight.

Sophie Ménard has over 20 years experience in training, facilitation, organizational development and coaching. She has been teaching full time in the Group Facilitation and then in Group Intervention and Leadership programs for the past 12 years as part of the Faculty of Human Sciences.

Her interest and passion for adult learning and leadership development has lead her to doctoral studies in the field of education on the topic of executive coaching. Her dissertation presents links between coaching interventions and the emergence of different types of insight. Sophie’s study is interdisciplinary as it calls upon notions from the fields of education, psychology and management.
