What is the U-Pass Program?
Students in Ottawa have sought better and more affordable transit for years. Two years ago, students from the University of Ottawa and Carleton University succeeded in passing a program at the City Council to create a Universal Student Bus Pass – the U-Pass. In December 2012, students of Saint Paul University voted in favour of joining this mandatory program in a referendum. Therefore, as of January 2013, the program will begin at a cost of $180 per semester for full-time students.
Eligible Students
All full-time students registered at Saint Paul University, both undergraduate and graduate, will be automatically charged for the program.
STO Area of Service
Unfortunately, students living in the STO area of service are not eligible for the U-Pass Program. However, you may still have been charged, so please double-check your account. If you have been charged, please come visit us at the Student Association Office (GIG 52), but make sure you contact us before the exemption deadline.
U Pass EXPIRES for the Summer
From May 1 to the end of August, U-Pass users will have to switch to a regular monthly pass to ride on OC Transpo, or pay with tickets.
