The Conflict Research Centre at Saint Paul University is pleased to offer two awards

The Conflict Research Centre at Saint Paul University is pleased to offer two awards recognizing student achievement at the graduate level. One award of $1000 (tuition credit) will be offered to a student in an English graduate program at Saint Paul University. A second award of $1000 (tuition credit) will be offered to a student in a French graduate program at Saint Paul University. In order to be eligible for the award, applicants must be continuing their graduate studies at Saint Paul University in 2012–2013.

The awards will be made on the basis of academic performance and contribution to university and community life through extra-curricular activities and/or professional achievements. Applications from students in all faculties are welcome. The Conflict Research Centre is concerned with conflict at the interpersonal, institutional, local, national, and international levels, and aims to enable dialogue and promote constructive responses to conflict. Accordingly, successful applicants will demonstrate an academic or personal interest in questions of conflict, and commitment to addressing conflict in a productive manner.

Application requirements and process:

Students who would like to apply are required to submit the following documents by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2012:

A cover letter outlining why the applicant meets the criteria for the award;
Transcript (Undergraduate and graduate level);
Curriculum vitae highlighting professional or extra-curricular achievements related to conflict or associated issues such as human rights, development, and peacebuilding.

Applicants should submit three hard copies of each of these documents to Professor Megan Bradley’s mailbox in the Multi-services Centre, in an envelope marked to the attention of the Conflict Research Centre. Applications will be adjudicated by a committee of professors chosen by the Conflict Research Centre.
