New Exhibits from May 23 to July 4, 2016:

Humanae salutis – Bull of Indiction of the Second Vatican Council (1961)

The Jean-Léon Allie Library acquired this reproduction of the papal bull convening the Second Vatican Council in April 2016. The original was revealed by the Vatican Secret Archives on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the council. This document is an exact facsimile of the one prepared and signed by Pope John XXIII in 1961.

Saint Francis of Assisi Documents

This facsimile of the papal letter confirming the rule of the Franciscans as well as the last two remaining autographs of Saint Francis of Assisi were acquired by the Library in April 2016. These facsimiles are identical reproductions of the originals, which are kept at the Vatican Secret Archives.

New Book Display: Summer Reading

The Library creates thematic displays to highlight some of its collections. This week, come see our display of books for summer reading. 

Exhibit: The Roman Rota and Canon Law Books 

The Jean-Léon Allie Library and Archives presents the exhibit “The Roman Rota and Canon Law Books”. Showcasing volumes of the complete Roman Rota, the exhibit aims to bring attention to these historical documents published by the Vatican.

The Jean-Léon Allie Library and Archives presents The Saint-Joseph Scholasticate: An Institution with a Rich History. Showcasing documents, items and photos related to the history and mission of the Congregation of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate at the scholasticate since 1885.
