Theology and Religious Studies  

ATLA Religion Database & ATLAS
Provides bibliographic information for journal articles, essays in multi-author works, and book reviews. The ATLA Religion Database is produced by the American Theological Library Association. 

Bibliographic Information Base in Patristics (BIBP)
The Bibliographic Information Base in Patristics is a documentary system that is highly specialized in patristics. Even though patristic literature remains its major preoccupation, the BIBP touches on all disciplines studying patristic Christianity.

Catholic Periodical and Literature Index
The CPLI provides indexing to currently significant Catholic periodicals of permanent value. Indexing includes subject and author/editor entries, as well as book title index and a book review index.

Database of Latin Dictionaries
Database that allows the simultaneous search of many important Latin dictionaries.

Dictionnaire d’histoire et de géographie ecclésiastiques (DHGE)
The Dictionnaire d’histoire et de géographie ecclésiastiques (DHGE) is an incomparable source of information on Church history. It covers 20 centuries of Church history on five continents. 

Historical Abstracts
Indexes over 2,000 journal titles published worldwide (from over 50 languages; over 50% are in English), with abstracts or annotations. Also indexes book reviews and dissertations. Information from the print index 1954–1968 is being added retrospectively.

Index Islamicus
Index Islamicus is the international classified bibliography of publications in European languages on all aspects of Islam and the Muslim world, from archaeology to the Palestinian–Israeli conflict, from Iran to Muslim minorities in the USA.

New Testament Abstracts
New Testament Abstracts Online indexes periodical literature related to the New Testament and its historical milieu.

Old Testament Abstracts
Old Testament Abstracts Online features indexing and abstracts for journal articles, monographs, multi-author works, and software related to Old Testament studies. Topics covered include antiquities, archaeology, biblical theology, philology and much more.

Papal Letters
The Papal Letters database is a digital version of 13th- and 14th-century papal letters from the secret Vatican archive in Rome. 

Past Masters
Past Masters is a collection of primary-source full-text humanities databases. Past Masters titles are usually comprised of the complete works of individual authors. 

Patrologia Latina
The Patrologia Latina is a full-text database covering the writings of the Church Fathers, from around 200 AD to the death of Pope Innocent III in 1216. It contains works by the majority of Latin authors in the fields of theology, philosophy, history, etc.

Patrologiæ Graecae
Migne's Patrologiæ Græcæ is a classic series of more than 160 volumes and remains the most comprehensive record of Greek patristic material in existence.

Religion and Philosophy Collection
A tool for researchers and students of theology and philosophical studies, this database provides access to peer-reviewed full-text journals. Subjects covered: world religions, biblical studies, religious history, epistemology, political philosophy, etc.

Revue d’histoire ecclésiastique – bibliographie 
The Bibliographie de la Revue d’histoire ecclésiastique references literature relating to church history. Emphasis is on Christian church history spanning from the earliest of times to the modern Catholic Church. 

Thesaurus Linguæ Graecæ 
Thesaurus Linguæ Graecæ (TLG) is a research centre at the University of California, Irvine. The TLG has digitized most literary texts written in Greek from Homer to the fall of Byzantium in AD 1453. It currently contains more than 3,700 authors.

Vetus Latina
Collection of Latin translations of the Bible in use before the establishment of the Vulgate as the definitive version.

Aristoteles Latinus Database
The Aristoteles Latinus Database is the complete corpus of Latin translations of Aristotle.

Database of Latin Dictionaries 
Database that allows the simultaneous search of many major Latin dictionaries.

Library of Latin Texts
The Library of Latin Texts is a primary-source database of Latin literature from antiquity through the patristic age, the Middle Ages, and ends in the neo-Latin period (ending in 1962). It includes the most significant Christian Latin.

Past Masters

Medline (Ovid) (max users: 50)
More than 12 million bibliographic records from more than 4,800 journals worldwide, from 1951 to the present. About 67% of the references have abstracts. 

Project Muse
Project MUSE is a unique collaboration between libraries and publishers providing 100% full-text, affordable and user-friendly online access to over 300 high-quality humanities, arts, and social sciences journals from 60 scholarly publishers. 

PsycARTICLES
PsycARTICLES is a database of full-text articles from journals published by the American Psychological Association, the APA Educational Publishing Foundation, the Canadian Psychological Association, and Hogrefe & Huber.

PsycBooks
PsycBOOKS is a full-text database of books and chapters in the American Psychological Association’s array of quality electronic databases. Each month, books published by APA and classic books from other publishers are added to the database. 

PsycINFO
Includes journal articles, books, book chapters, dissertations and government reports in psychology and related disciplines.

Revues.org (fédération de revues en Sciences humaines et sociales)
Collection of 80 electronic French-language journals covering various disciplines in the social sciences and humanities. Digital archives of several abstracts and full text collection of French titles. 

Social Services Abstracts 
The database abstracts and indexes over 1,400 serial publications and includes abstracts of journal articles and dissertations, and citations to book reviews. 

Social Work Abstracts Plus
The Social Work Abstracts database, produced by the National Association of Social Workers, Inc., contains more than 35,000 records, spanning 1977 to the present, from social work and other related journals on topics such as homelessness, AIDS, etc.

Sociological Abstracts
International coverage. Indexes journal articles from over 1800 journals. Includes abstracts from books, book chapters, conference papers, and dissertations.

Violence and Abuse Abstracts
Index to journal literature on interpersonal violence, including psychological, physical, and sexual abuse against women and children, hate crimes against groups such as gays and lesbians and ethnic minorities, elder abuse and neglect, workplace violence, etc.

Women and Social Movements in the United States, 1600–2000
History of women in social movements in the U.S. between 1600 and 2000, with full-text documents as well as book, film, and website reviews and teaching tools.

Women's Studies International 
Contains more than 300,000 records, including journal articles, books, chapters of books, films, etc.

Worldwide Political Science Abstracts
Abstracts and citations from international journals in political science and its complementary fields, including international relations, public policy, public administration, and law.

Canon Law

ATLA Religion Database & ATLAS

Ephemerides Theologicæ Lovanienses
Issue 2–3 (September) of the quarterly ETL is an extensive bibliography of books and articles that appeared the preceding year. The bibliography (ca. 12,000 entries) covers the entire field of Theology and Canon Law. Issues 1 (April) and 4 (December) of each volume contain articles, book reviews, and chronicles in English, French, or German. This periodical is indexed in ATLA Religion Database and Catholic and Periodical Literature Index.

Digital archives of legal information consisting of several full-text collections.

KALDI
Kanonistische Literaturdocumentation Innsbruck / Documentation of canonistic literature Innsbruck. A project of the Institute of Practical Theology, Department of Ecclesiastical Law.

Law Journal Library
Contains more than 1,250 law and law-related periodicals published in 29 countries. Coverage is from the first issue published for all periodicals and goes up to the most current issue allowed by the publishers.

Academic Search Complete
A multidisciplinary database designed specifically for academic institutions, it includes full text of journals, magazines, and newspapers. It is the world’s largest scholarly, multidisciplinary full-text database.

ACLS Humanities E-book project
Funded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and sponsored by the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS), the History E-Book Project is an electronic publishing initiative for books of high quality in the field of history.

ARTstor
As well as hosting uOttawa's ever-growing image collections, ARTstor is a digital library of approximately one million images in the areas of art, architecture, the humanities, and the social sciences, with a set of tools to view, present, and manage images.

Canadian Book Review Annual
This database includes authoritative reviews of more than 40,000 Canadian titles of scholarly, reference, trade, children’s, and young adult books, as well as adult fiction and non-fiction. Updated monthly.

Conference Papers Index
Conference Papers Index tracks papers and poster sessions from major scientific meetings around the world. It is not a full-text database; rather, it provides ordering information and title and author information needed to track the specific paper.

Directory of Open Access Journals
Covers free, full-text, quality-controlled scientific and scholarly journals. They aim to cover all subjects and languages. There are thousands of journals in the directory. 

Dissertations and Theses (Proquest)
Provides bibliographic information and abstracts for doctoral dissertations and master's theses from accredited North American, UK, and Irish universities. From 1957 to present, dissertations with appropriate copyright permissions may be downloaded.

ERIC
Bibliographic database produced by the U.S. Dept. of Education and other affiliated organizations. ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) covers academic and professional literature in education as well as other related domains, such as psychology.

Academic journals from Québec.

FRANCIS
FRANCIS represents a wide range of materials, including serials, journal articles, books, book chapters, conference papers, French dissertations and reports. FRANCIS is strong in religion, the history of art, and literature.

Frantext
Online collection of more than 3,500 French texts from the 16th to the 20th centuries. About 80% are literary texts and 20% are texts in the fields of arts and sciences.

Gallica
The digital library of the Bibliothèque nationale de France offers free access to 70,000 digitized works, more than 80,000 images, and many audio resources from the Middle Ages to the beginning of the 20th century.

A multidisciplinary database giving archival access to scholarly journals within the following areas: arts, sciences, humanities and social sciences. Note that Jstor does not provide access to current issues.

Oxford Scholarship Online
Over 1,000 scholarly ebooks in political science, religious studies, economics, law, biology, and philosophy.

PAIS International (includes PAIS Archive)
A bibliographic index with abstracts. Includes journal articles, books, conference proceedings, reports, etc., in six languages.

Periodicals Archive Online
Full-text journal articles in the humanities and social sciences from several hundred scholarly journals.

Persée
Full-text humanities and social sciences journals in French.

Project Muse

SAGE eReference
Social science encyclopedias in electronic format.

Canada in Context
Includes references, periodicals, primary sources, and multimedia resources geared to Canadian students and educators. Includes Canadian curriculum standards with correlated content. 

Système universitaire de documentation (SUDOC)
Allows you to search bibliographic information on all types of documents held by French academic libraries, as well as other higher education establishments, and on periodicals found in 2,900 institutions.

Theses Canada
Provides the full text of Canadian theses published from January 1998 to August 2002, and bibliographic access to all Canadian theses.

Web of Science (via Web of Knowledge)
Allows you to access over 8,500 key research journals in science, engineering, medicine, social sciences, and humanities. It provides a unique form of searching by cited reference. This allows users to see who has cited a given author.

WorldCat (OCLC FirstSearch)
International database of items available in many libraries worldwide (that are members of OCLC). There are over 52 million items in over 400 languages, covering all subjects and all time periods. Many formats are covered: books, data files, theses, etc.

Abstracts and citations from international journals in political science and its complementary fields, including international relations, public policy, public administration, and law.
