Jérémie LeBlanc - Chief Librarian

Jérémie LeBlanc

What is your title and how long have you been at Saint Paul University?

Chief Librarian and started here in June of 2015.

What does your work consist of?

Ensure the smooth operation of the library, so that students have access to materials and resources they need to be successful in their studies and so that professors have access to materials to continue their research and support their teaching.

What is your academic/professional training?

I have a master's degree in library and information science, a B.A. in history and an incomplete M.A. in history, which was sidelined when I decided to pursue the master's in library science.

Can you tell us an interesting fact about yourself?

I have an interest in the world wars and organize commemorative ceremonies in Normandy each year.

What do you like most about the library?

Our rare book collection! I find it truly interesting as I keep finding amazing gems and stories within our collection.

What tip would you give our students?

Ask questions! Don’t be shy, and come see us at the library – we are here to help you and can help you achieve better grades!

Can you tell us one interesting fact about the library?

Our library has incunabulas. This isn't something weird or odd – it means we have works dating back to the early printing press and printed between 1450 and 1500. These are very rare books that are over 500 years old!
