Professors who are supervising internships play a key role in the process.
- Approval of the student’s learning objectives
The professor is responsible for approving the internship objectives and description. This normally requires a meeting with the student.
- Review and correction of internship reports
Internships are credit courses. On completion of an internship, students receive a grade of Satisfactory (S) or Not Satisfactory (NS). As part of the course requirements, students must submit internship reports that are reviewed and graded by their professor. The number of reports to be submitted is determined by the School offering the internship.
Professors may be required to discuss learning objectives with on-site supervisors and will be available for students should they need guidance or advice with their learning and the preparation of their report.
