CWCT Lecture: "Female Counselors and Wise Women in the Bible" with Irmtraud Fischer
The Centre for Women and Christian Traditions (CWCT) cordially invites you to the lecture "Female Counselors and Wise Women in the Bible."
The Centre is pleased to welcome the internationally renowned speaker Irmtraud Fischer. Dr. Fischer is Professor of Old Testament Studies at the University of Graz, Austria. She has held this position since 2004. Dr. Fischer has also been a visiting professor in Marburg / Lahn, Vienna, Bamberg, Jerusalem and Rome. Since 2009, she has coordinated the section on feminist exegesis at the international meetings of the Society of Biblical Literature (SBL). One of her books that has been translated into English is entitled Women Who Wrestled with God: Biblical Stories of Israel's Beginnings (Liturgical Press, Collegeville, 2005).
